What is the Governor's Honors Program?
The Governor's Honors Program (GHP) is a four-week, summer residential program hosted by Berry College designed to provide intellectually gifted and artistically talented high school students challenging and enriching educational opportunities not usually available during the regular school year. Activities provide each participant with opportunities to acquire the skills, knowledge, and attitudes to become independent, life-long learners. The Georgia Governor's Honors Program is fully funded by the Georgia General Assembly and operates at no cost to participants. High School sophomores and juniors in public, private, and home schools are eligible for nomination in one of the content areas.
How much does it cost?
GHP is fully funded by the Georgia General Assembly and operates at no cost to participants. This fully funded opportunity includes the month of classes, books, room, board, and entertainment.
What content areas can I be nominated in?
Students must receive a teacher nomination to apply. Students can only receive one nomination. Below you will find the subject areas in which a student can be nominated.

How do I apply?
Complete the 2021 Application process by following these instructions:
- Read the GHP Applicant Requirements and Frequently Asked Questions.
- Select a content area to be nominated in and ask a teacher for their recommendation.
- Download and complete the 2021 Parent/ Student Application. Please use personal email addresses for the student and parent email contact. Refrain from adding any email addresses that end in .edu, .gov, or .org. Lastly, be sure to sign and date the application.
- Download and complete the 2021 Student Brag Sheet and send it to your nominating teacher along with the Teacher Nomination Form.
- Fill out the GHP Applicant information form.
- Email your completed application to Ms. Handy on or before Monday October 4, 2021 by noon.
